The Annual Meeting of the Canby Youth Football association will be held on December 3, 2013 in Room 914 at Canby High School for the purpose of electing board members for the new term.
The nominees are:
Wes is a current Canby Youth Football board member where he holds the position of Vice President and manages the High School Referee program. Wes has been a part of the Canby Youth Football program for six years as both a Coach and a Board Member. He has three sons that all play multiple sports. In addition to coaching football, he coaches his two younger sons in basketball. Wes is a dedicated, active, well-respected, member of the Canby community.
Stacy Fulks, her husband and two children have lived in Canby for the past 12 years. She is self-employed and has successfully managed and operated Canby Daycare and Fulks Trucking 10 years.
In January 2014 she is retiring from Canby Daycare to focus more on volunteer opportunities that involve her children. She currently volunteers at St. Patrick’s Church and LeeElementary School. She has been a “Team Mom” for Canby Youth Football and a “Sideline Manager” for Canby Youth Lacrosse.
Stacy is respectful and has a great attitude that reflects honesty and integrity. She is loyal and committed with a very strong work ethic. She is known for being professional and proficient with a “can do” attitude.
Jennifer is born and raised in Canby and graduated from Canby High School. She is a third generation member of Swan Island Dahlias, a family business owned and operated in Canby for 86 years. She has two children and has been married to her husband, Robert, for 13 years. Jennifer currently manages the online, email & sales operation for the business. She is hard working, self-motivated and passionate about getting the best out of everything she is involved in.
This season was her son's first football exerience. Being part of the team and Canby Youth Football was a fabulous experience and she wants to focus on what is best for the program and the children in it. She has a passion for football, kids, community and the Canby Youth Football program.
Melanie takes great pride in being part of and supporting our Canby community. She is currently a Den Leader and Pack Trainher for Cub Scout Pack 91. As that position comes to an end, she is seeking a new volunteer opportunity to support her child as well as the other children in Canby. She has been a Den Leader and Pack Trainer since 2009 and was also a Lacrosse Sideline Manager for the 2013 season. In addition, she was a WHK Wresting Coordinator from 2011-2012, the 91 PTA Co-Vice President in 2009-2010 and the 91 PTA Treasurer from 2007-2009. She has also coached Micro Soccer in 2006.
Monty has been a part of Canby for almost 5 years. During his time here he has noticed the close knit community and hometown feeling this town and it’s people offer. One of his biggest reasons for moving here was Canby sports programs and the integrity they instill in all of the kids that play here. Hewould like to keep that experience going for his own children and others alike.
Jim was born, raised and currently resides in Canby. He and his wife, Kris, have two sons; Tyler who is 14 and a freshman at Canby Union High School (CUHS), and Caden, who is 10 and a fifth-grader at Lee Elementary in Canby. He graduated from CUHS in 1983 where he played two years of football before multiple knee injuries put an end to his football career.
Tyler is planning on playing baseball this spring. Caden played Canby Youth Football this year and also races motorcycles. Over the past three seasons, he has mentored Caden to four state motocross titles. He is a past-President of the Lobos Motorcycle Club, which organizes and hosts five to six off road races each year. The races are held on public and private lands, attracting riders from as many as six different countries. He has also helped coach both of his son’s t-ball and baseball teams and was an active assistant coach for Caden’s football team this season.

The Wellnitz award is the epitome of all awards given by TVYFL. The winners are voted by their fellow coaches for sportsmanship, conduct of themselves, team and parents, and overall being a good mentor for their community.
